Set under the spectacular backdrop of the Steenberg Mountains, the quiet area of Lakeside is conveniently located in Cape Town's Southern Suburbs. Due to its superb geographical location Lakeside provides fabulous access to the whole Cape Peninsula and most of Cape Town's attractions. The centre of Cape Town, Table Mountain and the V & A Waterfront are all within 20 minutes drive. Situated between Muizenberg and Tokai, and just moments from the end of the M3 Highway the area has become a highly sought after residential area.
Whilst being close to the main shopping areas of Tokai and Claremont, Lakeside has many of it's own facilities including supermarkets, restaurants, a wonderful cafe/bakery, pharmacy, bottle store, organic fruit & veg shop and a great local pub. Lakeside also has a train station providing public transport access to the centre of Cape Town as well as down the peninsula to Kalk Bay and Simons Town.
The wine farms of Constantia and the historic seaside towns of Muizenberg and Kalk Bay are within a five minutes drive. Also within five minutes drive is the larger suburb of Tokai with its fabulous new shopping facility, Blue Route Mall.
The mountains above Lakeside have numerous hiking trails and boast a great climbing rock known as Lakeside Pinnacle. Below Lakeside is the Zandvlei Nature Reserve. The reserve which is maintained by the Zanvlei Trust is centred around a wonderful lake that is a popular location for watersports such as windsurfing, yachting and kayaking.
